Maharashtra: Male Passenger Slaps Woman Bus Conductor Over No Seat

In a shocking incident, a male passenger in Ambajogai, Maharashtra slapped a woman conductor of a state-run bus. The passenger allegedly got on board despite being told that there was no seat.

In a shocking incident, a male passenger in Maharashtra slapped a woman conductor of a government bus. The passenger got on board despite being told that there was no seat. The argument heated up and the man ended up slapping the woman conductor. However, the passengers and bus drivers intervened to stop the fight. Read on to know more.

The government bus was going from Ambajogai to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. It stopped at Pachod tehsil where the male passenger boarded the bus. He was informed that there was no seat available on the bus. Yet, the passenger entered the bus and started arguing with the woman conductor. And then one thing led to the other. The passenger slapped the woman conductor. However, the bus driver and other passengers tried to stop the fight. 

The woman filed a complaint

The woman has filed a complaint against the passenger in Pachod police station charging him with relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.  

The video of the alleged incident has gone viral on social media. 

Similar Incidents happened a few days ago

Just a few days ago, a student passenger slapped a conductor three times after an argument over ticket fare. Allegedly, it was the conductor who initiated the physical assault by raising hands on the student. After retaliating, the student showed that he had a pass.

Then, in March 2024, a bus conductor slapped a woman passenger. They were arguing over the ticket for the bus ride. The incident happened on the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport (BMTC) bus. on Siddapura police station limits. The woman boarded the bus to travel from Bilekalli to Shivajinagar.

In February 2023, a bus driver and conductor forced a 59-year-old Dalit woman, Panchalai to deboard the bus in an unsafe location because she was carrying beef in her luggage. The incident happened on the Harur-Krishnagiri bus of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation. The woman belonged to  Navalai village in Morappur block of Dharmapuri district. However, the transport corporation took action against the bus driver and conductor and suspended them.
