A 72-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by her two sons and their wives over a property issue. The incident took place on October 22, in Bajgbhera village, Gurugram district, Haryana.
According to the assistant commissioner of police, Shiva Archan Sharma, all suspects will be arrested and the police helped the woman get medical treatment.
The elderly woman’s 40-year-old son and 37-year-old son and their wives starved her for several days to force her to transfer her property to them.

Woman Assaulted By Sons Over Property
The police said that after the woman refused to hand over her property to her sons, they assaulted her and locked her inside the room for an entire night. She begged one of the tenants in her house to open the door and ran out of the house.
The villagers became aware of the matter and contacted the police. The police team rushed her to the government hospital in Sector 10A. The police revealed that when she found the woman, they saw a ligature mark around her neck as her sons and their wives had attempted to strangle her.
The woman’s relative, Vikash Kumar said her right hand was fractured and she had a broken nose. Kumar alleged that her sons and their wives assaulted the woman with wooden bats, kicked her, and punched her.
The woman’s husband passed away eight years ago and she has a monthly pension of 2,500 rupees. She complained to the police on October 23 but an FIR was registered on October 27 after detailed medical reports were received.
Kumar revealed that the woman is currently living with one of her four daughters in Najafgarh, Delhi. The woman is still recovering and suffering from her wounds.
Kumar said, “All this was done by her sons to coerce her to hand over all the money she had in her bank account and a plot in Bajghera village, which would be worth around 60 to 70 lakh rupees.
The FIR was registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 34 (common intention) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
