Watch: Texas Woman Pinned Down, Arrested For Refusing To Wear A Mask At Bank

Anti-masker arrested in Texas: A 64-year-old woman was pinned down and handcuffed by cops at a bank in Galveston on Thursday for refusing to wear a mask. The footage caught on police bodycam, which shows Terry White sparring with the cops and later resisting arrest, has since gone viral on social media.

As per CNN, White came to the Galveston branch of the Bank of America without a mask on Thursday to close her account. Authorities at the bank stopped her, even offering her a mask in case she wasn't carrying one. White, however, said, "No thank you, I don't need one." She was asked to leave the premises, which she refused, which prompted the bank employees to call the cops.

At one point in the video, the woman can be heard exclaiming "police brutality," to which bystanders promptly reply, "no, it is not."

Reports suggest that while Texas has rolled back on compulsory masking, private entities and businesses are entitled to apply their own mask mandates on their premises.

Bank authorities reportedly called the police when White told them to "do what you have to" after they warned her of the consequences of not wearing a mask on their premises. The cop in the bodycam footage can be seen telling White, "Ma'am, if they ask you to leave, you have to leave."

"Business have the right to refuse service, even if you're not wearing a mask. That's their choice," he adds.

As per police, White has been arrested on charges of criminal trespassing, not for denial to wear a mask, since authorities at the bank had requested her to leave per their rules.
