Why Justice for Punjabi girl is trending? Posani Krishna Murali who is a screenwriter, actor, director and producer in the Telugu film industry recently held a press conference in response to Pawan Kalyan's comments a day earlier against the Andhra Pradesh government. Kalyan's comments has kicked up a storm in the industry which led to the press briefing and ever since Murali's meeting the hashtag #JusticeForPunjabiGirl has been trending.
Janasena party chief Kalyan is also an actor, director and screenwriter. He is the younger brother of popular actor Cheernjeevi. He expressed his unhappiness with the performance of the YSRCP government ( led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy) in the state. This happened at a pre-release event Sai Dharam Tej's Republic movie.
Posani Murali in his press conference opposed all the comments made by Kalyan and brought up the topic of a Punjabi girl. He said, "A Punjabi girl entered the Telugu film industry with a lot of hopes. She came in touch with a popular personality. They became close. He promised her film offers. Later, she became pregnant and he forced her to get an abortion. He also gave death threats to the girl if she reveal his identity. I request Pawan Kalyan to deliver justice to the girl. In that case, I will construct a temple for Pawan". Murali didn't reveal anything further about the person he was talking about. But since the conference #JusticeForPunjabiGirl has been trending on social media.
The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, (TFCC) the apex body of the Telugu film industry distanced itself from the comments of Pawan Kalyan. In a press note, the president of the body TFCC, Narayandas Kishandas Narang said, “Various individuals have expressed their views, opinions and anguish on different platforms. These are not the voices of the Industry as a whole.”
The statement further read that thousands of people and their families who are dependent on this Industry have been suffering since March 2020. At this point, they require the support of the leaders. And need the governments to be large- hearted and extend their continued support.

On Tuesday, Posani Krishna Murali called a press conference at the Somajiguda Press Club. He alleged that he faced a threat from the Jana Sena and Pawan Kalyan’s fans association. As the meeting progressed, some fans of the actor and JS party members attempted to enter the premises and the police had to intervene.
