ED Summon Yami Gautam: The Vicky Donor actor Gautam has been summoned to the ED office on July 7 to record her statement in the alleged money laundering case. This is the second time the actor has been summoned by the federal agency.
According to a statement given by an official, Yami Gautam has been summoned regarding an undisclosed amount in her bank account. Gautam allegedly received 1.5 crores in her account and has to visit the federal office in connection with the alleged irregularities under FEMA. She has been called for questioning by the ED under an alleged case of violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
An Enforcement Directorate (ED) Official said in a statement to IANS, "The agency has summoned Gautam to appear before it on July 7 to record her statement." Gautam was summoned to the ED office last year too for the same case but she couldn't be present due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
Gautam made her Bollywood debut alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in the film Vicky Donor which highlighted the stigmas around sperm donation. Gautam is known for her roles in the films Uri, Badlapur, Kaabil' and Bala. She has also worked in the Tamil and Telugu film industries.
Last month, she tied the knot with the Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar. Gautam was applauded for her wedding ceremony which was simple and elegant. According to reports, Gautam did her own makeup for the wedding and the wedding pictures went viral almost instantly. She is recently shooting for the upcoming social comedy film Dasvi. The movie is being produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films.
Yami Gautam is also going to be seen in the much-awaited thriller film 'A Thursday'. Gautam will be playing the role of a school teacher who takes 16 children as hostages.
