Who was Katherine Creag: Television reporter Katherine Creag, who worked with NBC network in New York, passed away suddenly at the age of 47. The nature of her death has many in the media industry in shock.

The specific cause of her death is not yet, the WNBC reported that she died of a medical complication. It is said that she showed no signs of illness before her death. Her colleagues at WNBC remembered her as the delightful personality and mourned her death in a heartfelt video. 

 Vice President of WNBC news, Amy Morris, shared in an email statement, “For ten years Kat was one of our cornerstones, always willing to help in any situation, whether it was a colleague in need or a shift that needed to be covered… even on the toughest days she was a bright light, quick with a kind word and a smile.” 

Who was Katherine Creag:

  • She is survived by four children Jack, Emma and Josie and husband Bill Gafner with whom she was married for the last 14 years.  
  • Gafner also works at WNBC. Before that, he worked at a London-based company ION trading which develops software for financial purposes. 
  • Creag was born in Philipines and graduated college in 1996 graduate from New York University. 
  • She was recognised for many awards during her career including one by the Associated Press. 
  • Her colleagues at the WNBC remembered her for her cheerful personality who was always in a good mood. 
  • Her enthusiastic approach towards doing a graveyard shift could be seen in her Twitter bio where she wrote, " Sleep, what's that! I go to work when you're coming home from the club."
