Who Is Zhao Wei? : The actor and filmmaker reportedly posted an update of her whereabouts on Instagram on August 29 but the post was soon deleted. Media reports from earlier had stated that Wei fled to France after the removed from social media platforms by the Chinese government.

In the now-deleted post on Instagram, the actor reportedly wrote that she was living with her parents in Beijing. Her whereabouts have been mystery for sometime now. Earlier a picture of her with her husband and other celebrities at a vineyard went viral on Chinese social media. Many local media houses claimed that the actor had fled to France where she and her husband Huang Youlong own a vineyard named Chateau Monlot.

- Zhao Wei then started making films on her own and took the role of an investor.
- The actor made many headlines as she got engaged in several controversies. Once she wore a dress which featured Japanese Rising Sun flag during a photoshoot.
- She was later banned by the Chinese stock market along with her businessman husband Huang Youlong for violating a rule.
- The Chinese government has lately started to wipe out celebrities from social media. Wei is also one of them. Her profiles have been removed from Chinese social media sites such as Weibo.
- When the news of her fleeing to France started surfacing, she came out with a clarification that she is in Beijing with her parents at their house. However the post was deleted within one hour of being posted.
