New Jersey Couple Death: The Indian couple Balaji Bharat Rudrawar and Arati Balaji Rudrawar living in New Jersey were found dead on April 7.

The couple stayed in an apartment in the Riverview Gardens complex in New Jersey. The police were alerted after neighbours saw that the couple’s 4-year-old daughter was crying alone on the balcony. The couple was reportedly fatally stabbed and the United States authorities are currently investigating the case.

Who Is The Indian Couple That Was Killed In New Jersey?

1. The late Balaji Bharat Rudrawat was a 32-year-old IT professional that worked for a prominent Indian infotech company. He lived with his wife Arati Bharat Rudrawat, who was a homemaker, and their child in New Jersey.
2. Balaji and Arati had gotten married in December 2014, and moved to the US in August 2015.
3. Arati’s father-in-law Bharat Rudrawar told PTI that she was seven months pregnant. He also added that he was unaware of any motive as “They were a happy family and had lovely neighbours.”
4. Bharat Rudrawar was informed of the couple’s deaths on Thursday. He stated that the US police informed him that the finding of the autopsy report would be shared with him.
5. Local US newspapers stated that officers forced their way inside the apartment and found the couple dead.
6. It has been confirmed that both of the deceases were stabbed. The investigators are waiting for the medical examiner to determine the cause and circumstances of the death.
7. A US media report stated that Balaji allegedly stabbed and sliced Arati in the abdomen as she tried to fight him off.
8. The Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella stated in a statement that the police arrived at the apartment at 5:40 pm. They had received a 911 call from a neighbour asking for a welfare check on the residents.
9. Bharat Rudrawar revealed that his granddaughter is currently staying with a friend of the family. He stated that “My granddaughter is now with a friend of my son. He had several friends in the local Indian community.”
10. Bharat Rudrawar was informed that the bodies of the deceased couple will reach India in 8-10 days.
11. The investigation into the deaths is being conducted by Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit. It is being headed under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilloti and North Arlington Police Department’s Chief Scott Hedenberg.
