14-year-old girl Tanvi Sharma from Hoshiarpur, Punjab has broken the glass ceiling with her dedication to her sports career. She created history by winning three titles in the National Badminton Championship held at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.

Sharma won a gold medal and a silver medal playing in categories above her age group. The badminton star won the final of U-15, U-17 and a gold in the U-15 mix doubles. She also won a silver medal in U-19 singles.
She is the first player from India to achieve this.
Sharma has represented her state nationally and internationally and this is just the beginning of her career. Her mother, Meena Sharma conveyed that her hard work and dedication are what brought laurels to her.
Tanvi’s father, Vikas Sharma, a superintendent at the Additional Deputy Commissioner Office said, “I am mad with happiness, she has made us proud and I have no words to express it.”

Who Is Tanvi Sharma?
- Only 14 years of age, Tanvi Sharma hails from Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
- She first started playing badminton at the age of five.
- Sharma is currently a class eight student at The Trinity School in Hoshiarpur.
- She has a sister named Radhika who is an international badminton player.
- Sharma is said to have represented her school internationally in Thailand. She represented her school at various places. Sharma had bagged the second position in Under-11 Singles and Doubles at a State Level Championship, representing her school.
- The badminton champion had joined the Pullela Gopichand badminton academy in Hyderabad with her sister Radhika.
- Sharma ranked 733 in the BWF World Junior Championship where her sister also participated.
- Her mother, Meena Sharma was a national volleyball player. She was a sports officer at a local college and she quit there to support her daughters to pursue their passion for sports.
- She won the U-15 and U-17 finals and bagged a gold in the U-15 mix doubles. In the U-19 state championship, Tanvi Sharma beat Manya Ralhan 21-16, 21-13.
