28-year-old television actor Sheezan Khan was arrested on Sunday, December 25 after his co-star Tunisha Sharma died by suicide on Saturday on the set of a television show.
An FIR against Khan was registered based on a complaint by the late actor's mother, Vanita Sharma. In the FIR, Vanita alleged that the co-stars were in a relationship and had broken up 15 days ago.
Recently, Vanita released a statement and accused Khan of cheating on the late actor. She said he "started a relationship with her first, promised her of marriage and then broke up with her".
She alleged that Khan "used her for three-four months".
The police registered a case against Khan under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. According to a police officer, Khan was produced before a court in Vasai, which sent him to police custody for four days.
Sheezan Khan and Tunisha Sharma played the lead roles in the television series, Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul.
Reportedly, Sharma was on set and reportedly shooting when she took a break and went to her make-up room. Team members went to check on her and she was found hanging. The late actor was taken to the hospital and declared dead.
The last rites of the actor will be held on December 27 at the Mira Road cremation ground in Mumbai.
A forensic team visited the television show set where Sharma was found dead and seized various materials, including the crepe bandage she allegedly used to hang herself.
On December 31, the Vasai court in Maharashtra sent accused Sheezan Khan, the reported former boyfriend and co-star of Sharma to 14-day judicial custody.
Khan remained in judicial custody until he was granted bail by a Maharashtra court on March 4.

- Sheezan Khan is a television actor best known for starring in the television series Jodha Akbar and Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul.
- His acting career began in 2013 when he starred as young Akbar and Sultan Murad Mirza.
- Khan plays the role of Ali Baba in the tv show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. He starred alongside Sharma in the fantasy television series.
- The actor has two elder sisters, Falaq and Shafaq Naaz, who are also television actors.

- Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chandrakant Jadhav said, "Tunisha and Sheezan Khan had an affair. They had a break-up 15 days ago after which she died by suicide on the sets of her show".
- ACP Jadhav added that Khan and the deceased's phone were seized. "The investigation is underway... There is no angle of any other affair, blackmailing of 'Love Jihad', as of now".
- As reported by Asian News International (ANI), Khan told police he was "so disturbed by the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar" that he decided to end his relationship with Sharma.
- During the first day in police custody, Khan told the Waliv police that he ended the relationship after the brutal murder case came to light and told Sharma that belonging to different communities stands in their way.
- Police sources quoted Khan as saying, "Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at the time I saved her and told Tunisha's mother to take special care of her".
- In a recent press conference, Khan's sister Falaq Naaz and advocate Mishra alleged that Tunisha Sharma's mother Vanita and uncle, Sanjeev Kaushal, used to control her finances, and they took every decision related to her expenditure. Naaz alleged that Tunisha would often panic hearing Kaushal's name as well.
