Saroj Pandey is a BJP Rajya Sabha MP who has been a politics for a long time now. She has recently tested positive for COVID-19, and has been admitted to AIIMS in Delhi. Her test report came out positive on today, i. e, Tuesday. She then informed her followers about the same on Twitter, and advised everyone who came in contact with her to get themselves tested for the virus. Besides her, union minister Santosh Gangwar, and BJP MP Anil Baluni also revealed that they had tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day as Saroj Pandey.

- Saroj Pandey was born on 22 June 1968 to Shyamji Pandey and Gulab Devi Pandey.
- She completed her post-graduation in Child Development from the Bhilai Mahila College, Pt. Ravishankar University, Raipur.
- In 2000, she was elected as the mayor of Durg, a city in Chhattisgarh, and got re-elected in the year 2005.
- She then became the MLA of Vaishali Nagar in 2008. She was then fielded by the BJP for the 2009 Indian general election which she contested from Durg.
- Pandey won that election, and became a Mayor, MLA and MP all at once.
- She was then made the National President of BJP Mahila Morcha (woman wing of Bharatiya Janata Party) on 24 April 2013.
- In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, she lost to Tamradhwaj Sahu from the Congress party.
- However, she was still made the National General Secretary of the BJP, and was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2018.
- Saroj Pandey was nominated for the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records for serving as a MLA, MP and Mayor at the same time.
- She also has the longest record for serving as the mayor of Durg for a period of 20 years. She also received the Best Mayor award for her work.
