Who is Sandhya Doshi? A video of Shiv Sena corporator and civic education committee chairman Sandhya Doshi misbehaving with staff at Bhagwati Hospital in Mumbai has gone viral on social media. In the video, Doshi can be seen arguing with doctors on duty and accusing a person who looks like a hospital staff for allegedly not “talking properly” to a patient known to her.
The video surfaced online on Tuesday reportedly over a patient not being admitted to the hospital in Mumbai. She is heard saying that the language used with her relative was inappropriate.

Who is Sandhya Doshi and what exactly happened at the Mumbai hospital?
1. Doshi is a corporator from Gorai and second-time chairman of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) education committee.
2. Doshi served as an NCP corporator for two terms before switching parties just ahead of the BMC elections.
3. In 2016, She joined the Shiv Sena. She is currently serving as a ward-18 corporator in the Mumbai suburbs.
Her video is doing rounds on social media since she alleged misbehaviour by the doctor with a patient, reported to be her relative. In the video, she can be heard saying that she could make ten doctors like the person (she is talking to in the video) stand at the hospital and also threatened to call the ward officer if the patient is not admitted.
3. The video is alarming since the person accompanying the Shiv Sena corporator can be seen without a face mask in a COVID-19 hospital facility. These details were pointed out by several people who tweeted the video. Doshi told the medical staff that doctors need to learn how to speak and work with respect. She also can be heard saying, "Aise dus hospital mein, aise dus doctor khadi kar sakti hoon main."
4. After the incident, doctors and the medical staff of the hospital have released a video. They also threatened to resign in the video and went on strike.

5. Netizens also slammed Doshi for misbehaving with the doctors. Twitteratti also asked leaders and politicians to let doctors do their job.

Protesting Doshi’s behaviour, Pratik Karpe, BJP Corporator and education committee member of the BMC said, “I have written to @mybmc Commissioner CM @OfficeofUT to take action against Corporator Sandhya Doshi for the rude behaviour and bringing interference as Per Pandemic Act Rules . Also highlighted person accompanying her l without mask in a hospital #MahaCovidFailure (sic)"

7. Later, talking to Republic world, Doshi apologised to the doctors for misbehaving with them earlier on Tuesday. "My intention of reaching the hospital was to get a patient admitted. I apologise if my words have any hurt any hospital staff", she apologised in a video.
