American internet and technology company Match Group announced on September 10 that the online dating app Tinder will see its first-ever woman CEO as Renate Nyborg.
Match CEO Shar Dubey said in a statement that Nyborg demonstrated true leadership while running Tinder’s European business and that she also is relentlessly focused on accelerating growth and "developing experiences based on what the members -- particularly women -- are looking for."
Who Is Renate Nyborg ?
Nyborg joined Tinder last year as general manager of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Now, she is set to be the first woman CEO of the company. Nyborg met her husband on the dating app and joined Tinder after the online meditation app Headspace.
Previously, Nyborg also spent more than four years at American multinational technology company Apple where she led the company’s App Store subscription business across Europe.
According to Tinderpressroom, Nyborg has over 15 years of experience building mobile and subscription businesses and she also holds the credit for founding human-centric app design studio Pleo, being the first-ever Global Director of Mobile at Edelman.
Nyborg is a graduate in Philosophy from Cambridge University and is a mother to three stepkids. The Presssroom bio added that Nyborg loves food, her piano and music, and can often be found hiking or Nordic skiing around the Alps.
