Who Is Pratibha Shukla? State Minister in Uttar Pradesh Cabinet 2022

Pratibha Shukla is one of the five female ministers that have been included in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet of 2022. The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the members of the UP cabinet took oath on March 25, 2022.

in 2022 Assembly Elections held in Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party won by claiming 255 out of 403 seats after which the speculations started about the new cabinet that will be headed by CM Yogi Adityanath. The confusion and guesses came to an end when on March 25, CM Yogi, along with 52 cabinet ministers, took the oath as the CM for the second time. His cabinet includes 32 new faces and 5 female faces that have been given important roles to govern the state processes. Who Is UP State Minister Pratibha Shukla?

On March 25, Pratibha Shukla took the oath as the Minister of State in the UP cabinet 2022 and became the third minister in UP cabinet from Kanpur Dehat. Born on April 20, 1960, Pratibha is currently 61 years old. She is a well educated politician holding a post graduate degree in Arts and a B.Ed degree. She contested elections in 2007 as a member of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in UP from the Chaubepur constituency and became MLA for the first time. She again contested elections from BSP in 2012, this time from the Akbarpur Rania constituency. However, she lost from Samajwadi Party's Ramswaroop Gaur and became the runner up.

In 2017, she left BSP and decided to join BJP along with her husband and former BSP MP from the Bilhaur constituency, Anil Shukla Warsi, before the elections. She got ticket from the Akbarpur Rania constituency as a BJP candidate and this time, she won and became the MLA. In 2022, she reclaimed the Akbarpur Rania seat and became MLA for the second time and was also included as a State Minister in the State Cabinet.

Known for her simple, outgoing and easily approachable personality, Pratibha has a good grip over the female population of her constituency. She is one of the prominent Brahmin faces in the district and that too, from a constituency that has dalit majority. She was in news when she donated land for Parshuram Temple in the district. She also became the centre of attention when she accused Devendra Singh Bhole, a member of her own party BJP, for being an anti-Brahmin.
