Shiv Sena has staged a massive protest outside the Mumbai residence of MP Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana. Ravi has also claimed that their house in Amravati was also attacked while their children were still inside. He warned that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will be held responsible if his family is hurt.
His comment was followed by a massive protest by Shiv Sena members outside the MP-MLA couple’s residence to oppose their plan to chant the Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree—the residence of Uddhav Thackeray.
The workers did not only protest outside their residences, they broke barricades and also threatened them with dire consequences if they go ahead with their plan. Reportedly, the couple arrived in Mumbai on Friday, April 22 and the party members protested outside their Khar residence. Police said that the couple will be held responsible if the law-and-order situation is disturbed since the couple was served notice to not protest outside Matoshree.
The Ranas had earlier announced they would go to Matoshree—CM Thackeray’s private residence—on April 23, Saturday at 9 am and chant Hanuman Chalisa to mark their protest. Navneet Rana said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is at his post because of Hindutva but he has left his ideology now.
The Ranas arrived in Mumbai on Friday morning. Since then, Shiv Sena workers have gathered at various locations in Mumbai, including Matoshree, daring the Rana couple to venture near Matoshree.
