Who is Natasha Peri: The 11-year-old prodigy is being counted among the world's brightest students. An Indian-American, young Peri has been recognised by the prestigious Johns Hopkins University under its High Honours Awards.
The University's Centre for Talented Youth assessed results of 19000 students from 84 countries, as per a statement, using "above-grade-level testing" to determine the abilities of "advanced" learners.
Peri, a New Jersey-based elementary school student, took CTY's exams in 2021 while in grade five and secured 'Advanced' level in Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) and American College Testing (ACT). The two are standardised tests that colleges in the US generally accept for student admissions.

As per CTY, Peri's results levelled with the 90th percentile of advanced Grade 8 performance. The High Honours recognition was only awarded to 20 percent of the students who qualified - among them Peri.
"This motivates me to do more," Peri said, as quoted by PTI.
The young genius reveals she likes to doodle and is a fan of English author JRR Tolkien, renowned for his Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series.
Across scholarly lists of honour, girls have been marking their cognitive and academic abilities starting at very early ages. Earlier this year, Dayaal Kaur aged only four earned the moniker 'Baby Einstein' after her scores on the Mensa test reflected a grade point of 142, not too many levels below that of physicist Abert Einstein.
