Basketball player Miles Bridges' wife, Mychelle Johnson, has broken the silence and shared the harrowing aftermath of an alleged domestic violence attack that landed the Charlotte Hornets players in jail. In her Instagram post, she described in detail what had happened and shared pictures of the bruises.
"I hate that it has come to this but I can't be silent anymore. I've allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life," she posted to Instagram. "It hurts my heart because I’ve always had hope, and so much love and as scary as this is for me to do it’s time I stand up for myself," she further wrote.
The series of photos she posted showed scratches on her face, a fractured nose, a bloody ear and bruises on her arm, back and legs.
Reportedly, Bridges, who'd earlier fled, was charged with felony domestic violence when he turned himself in to Los Angeles Police. He was however released on a 13,000 dollar bail shortly after.
Johnson and Bridges (24) have two children together and had begun dating in 2016. The details of their wedding have never been publicised though.
Many have come out in support of Johnson and are hoping that Bridges is convicted of his crime meanwhile, the Hornets, reportedly are gathering information about the ordeal before they sign the player and refused to comment.
Who Is Mychelle Johnson?
Mychelle Johnson was born on September 3, 1997, in Huntington, West Virginia, to parents Scott and Holli Johnson. The 24-year-old reportedly has three siblings. Her father Scott is the head coach of the West Virginia Thunder AAU Club and Johnson has received her love for sports from her father.
The alumna of St Joseph Catholic High School was a basketball player herself and has led her school team to three state championships and became a two-time defensive player of the year. She joined Middle Tennessee State University where she played for their basketball team.
Reportedly, Mychelle moved to Marshall after a year at Middle Tennessee State University.
Mychelle, who is now mother to Ace and Ayla, her kids with Miles, has left her athlete days behind her. She, however, has dabbled in modelling and has appeared for the Good American active-wear campaign in 2018.
