Italian media tycoon and three-time former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi breathed his last on June 12, 2023. The 86-year-old politician had built a huge fortune during his lifetime. He left 100 million euros, approximately Rs. 906 crores, for his girlfriend Marta Fascina.
Silvio Berlusconi died at the Milan hospital when he went for his regular leukemia check-up, but was later admitted. The former PM continued his work from the hospital before his health deteriorated. Berlusconi was a celebrated businessman and politician in Italy and left behind him a fortune worth around 6 billion euros. Who Is Marta Fascina?
33-year-old Marta Fascina is a member of Silvio Berlusconi's political party Forza Italia. Fascina holds a philosophy and literature from Sapienza University, Rome. After graduation, she started her career as a press officer for the football club AC Milan. She got into politics after she joined Forza Italia and started writing newspaper articles in its support. In the 2018 general elections in Italy, she was selected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies and serving in that position since then.
Fascina started dating the former PM Berlusconi in 2010. The couple was public about their relationship and often spotted together for events and campaigns. Though the couple never got married legally, they had a symbolic wedding ceremony in March 2023, referred to as the 'festival of love'. Berlusconi reportedly referred to Fascina as his wife when he was on his deathbed. The politician also left 100 million euros for his brother Paolo Bersulconi and 30 million euros for Marcello Dell'Utri, his long-time friend and former Forza Italia senator, who was charged with Mafia ties and served time in jail. Reportedly, his two eldest children from his first wife will manage his business.
