Lucy Letby, a 31-year-old nurse appeared at the Manchester Crown Court hearing via videolink from HMP Peterborough on Monday morning. She has now been charged for murdering five boys and three girls at the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

During the hearing, she only spoke to confirm her name, and that she could hear all the proceedings. The hearing which lasted for about 25 minutes, dealt with the case management ahead of a trial next year. Mr Justice Dove adjourned proceedings until a further case management hearing at the same court on 17 May.
Here's what we know about Lucy Letby:
- Lucy had been working as a student nurse during three years of training, before qualifying as a children's nurse at the University of Chester in 2011.
- In November last year, Lucy Letby was arrested for the third time after an investigation was carried out at the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital.
- She was previously arrested in 2018 and 2019 in relation to her alleged role in the deaths of the infants. Her home was also searched by the police.
- However, she was released both times and no action was taken against her.
- Then on November 12, Lucy Letby had to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court via video conferencing. She was accused of murdering eight infants and attempting to murder 10 of them. All the children killed were under the age of one.
- Lucy had murdered the babies between June 2015 to 2016 at the hospital in England.
- In February this year, Lucy appeared at the Chester Crown Court for a 35-minute hearing. She was remanded in custody, and May 10 was set as the date for further hearing.
- When she was first arrested, many of her friends said that she was a 'professional nurse" and that she was dedicated to her "dream job."
