Who Is Karishma Prakash? Deepika Padukone's Manager Who was Summoned By Narcotics Bureau

Karishma Prakash, actress Deepika Padukone’s manager, was recently summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the ongoing Bollywood drug probe. Prakash is also a talent manager at KWAN Talent Agency. The Enforcement Directorate previously investigated the same agency in the Sushant Singh Rajput death-case. Reports suggest the NCB has recovered WhatsApp chats that point to her involvement in the alleged Bollywood drug nexus.

Prakash’s name emerged when the NCB questioned Jaya Saha – Rajput’s talent manager and another employee at KWAN Talent Agency. Besides Prakash, the NCB also summoned KWAN’s CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar for questioning in the same case.

Karishma Prakash - Celebrity Manager

30-year-old Karishma Prakash is a resident of Mumbai and belongs to a middle-class family. Prakash has  worked with many famous Bollywood celebrities during her years-long tenure as a talent manager at KWAN Talent Agency. Reportedly, she is Jaya Saha’s assistant as well.

Currently, she handles the account of one of the agency’s most high profile clients – Deepika Padukone. She took over from Anirban Das Blah, Deepika’s former manager and co-founder of KWAN Talent Agency. Notably, Blah had tried to commit suicide last year after being at the receiving end of #MeToo allegations.

Prakash has often been spotted accompanying Padukone at events and shoots. In 2018, she was also present at the actress’ wedding with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh at Lake Como, Italy. The manager gave fans a glimpse of the wedding venue and decorations via an Instagram story.

NCB Summons Karishma Prakash

Karishma Prakash, despite the summons, may not be able to appear before the NCB anytime soon as she is currently accompanying Deepika Padukone to Goa. The actress is shooting for her next film venture directed by Shakun Batra directorial and produced by Karan Johar.

The NCB has questioned several people so far in connection with the alleged Bollywood drug nexus. The nexus came to the fore after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death earlier this year. Bollywood stars like Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were reported to be summoned but there is no clarity on the same yet.

On October 27, NCB conducted a raid at Prakash's residence in Versova, in her absence. An official told reporters, "Prakash’s name cropped up during the questioning of one of the paddlers arrested by us in the case in which we are looking to bust drug networks around Bollywood, Based on the information, we raided her residence today. We found 1.7 grams of charas and at least two bottles of CBD oil." She has been summoned for further questioning on October 28 by NCB.
