Kamla Devi, mother of Olympic wrestler and arrested murder suspect Sushil Kumar, petitioned in Delhi High Court over concerns of an alleged media trial of her son. Her appeal to curb "sensational reporting" with regard to Kumar was filed jointly with Shrikant Prasad, a Delhi University law student.
Dismissing her petition Friday, a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh, said, "We see no reason to entertain litigation on behalf of a vigilant person. Liberty is reserved with the person who is actually aggrieved to approach the appropriate authority..."

Dhankar was allegedly murdered on May 4, 2021 at Chhatrasal Stadium over a property dispute. Visual evidence has emerged of Kumar and his associates assaulting him, as per India Today.
