10 Things To Know About Kannada Actor Jayashree Ramaiah

Kannada actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Jayashree Ramaiah was found dead on Monday afternoon. She allegedly died by suicide on Sunday night, and her body was found in an old-age home in Bengaluru. 

Here are ten things to know about Jayashree Ramaiah's death:

1. The dancer and actor became a household name after participating in the popular reality show in Bigg Boss Kannada season 3.

2. The model-turned-actor shot to fame and made her Sandalwood debut right after her Bigg Boss stint.

3. She had left fans alarmed after sharing a cryptic Facebook post last year which read, "I quit. Goodbye to this f*****g world and depression." If reports are to be believed, the Uppu Huli Khara actor had hinted at wanting to end her life on her social media page.

4. After opening up about having suicidal thoughts, the post went viral and later she had to remove it reassuring, "I'm Alright and safe!! Love you all."

5. According to TOI, she had earlier lodged a police complaint against her maternal uncle and accused him of physical and sexual harassment in 2019. The actor has filed a written complaint and said, "Since childhood, he has been physically and sexually harassing me like this. He used to beat me up with his shoes." She had also alleged that her uncle used to pass lewd comments about her outfits.

6. In July last year, during a live session on Facebook, Ramiah had opened up, "I am financially strong but depressed. I have been going through a lot of personal issues. I have been betrayed since childhood and unable to overcome it."

7. Earlier, in another interview, actor Advithi Shetty had spoken about Ramiah's battle with depression and revealed that she had been going through a rough phase due to financial problems and lack of work amid COVID-19 pandemic.

8. According to multiple reports, Ramaiah had been battling depression for several months and was reportedly undergoing treatment at the Sandhya Kirana Ashram.

9. According to reports, the actor was found dead in Sandhya Kirana Ashram, an old-age and rehabilitation centre in Bengaluru.

10. A case has been registered at Madanayakanahalli police station of Bengaluru.
