Who is Inspector Rajeshwari: A woman cop from Chennai is winning hearts online for her active rescue efforts in the state of Tamil Nadu that is under the deluge of heavy rainfall and floods. Visuals of Inspector Rajeshwari carrying an unconscious man over her shoulders in the Kilpauk area and rushing him towards a vehicle that will get him to the nearest hospital for treatment have taken social media by storm.
The man, 28, was reportedly ill and had fallen at a cemetery in TP Chatram that was witnessing excessive waterlogging and a mess of uprooted trees. Rajeshwari reached the spot and without waiting for more hands to arrive, she rushed the man to an auto. The super cop is seen with her khaki uniform pants rolled up to the knees and her bare feet walking with determination towards getting the man medical assistance. More here.

Know Who Is Inspector Rajeshwari, Chennai's Super Cop
Government officers, cops, activists, journalists and netizens have come out in hordes to hail Inspector Rajeshwari for her humanitarian labour. "No one has shoulders as strong as you Inspector Rajeshwari... Bravo. Helping out an unconscious man in terrible rains and rushing him to a nearby hospital in an auto is indeed laudable," IAS officer Supriya Sahu tweeted.
"Must give it to her !! Good work Indeed by Inspector E Rajeshwari from the chennai police who rescued a unconscious man," actor-activist Nagma Morarji. IRS officer Nirupama Kotru wrote, "Well done, Inspector Rajeshwari. You do us all proud God bless you & all others like you performing selfless service in this hour of need."
Rajeshwari is employed with the TP Chatram Police Station. The Chennai Police Commissioner has commended her for being "an excellent officer."
The man who Rajeshwari rescued is currently under treatment and recovering well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday evening withdrew its red alert for Chennai as the depression began crossing the state coast. Approximately 14 people are reported to be dead.
