Who Is Elnaaz Norouzi? Actor's Bold Protest Video Against Iran Morality Police

As women in Iran continue their fight against their country's treatment of women following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of Iran's morality police, celebrities from across the world have shown their support for women and are protesting in their own way against the brutal laws that deny women of their individual choices. Recently, model-actor Elnaaz Norouzi displayed her support for women in Iran and at the same time made a bold video to join the protest against the country's lawmakers.

The Iranian-born actor Elnaaz Norouzi, who also starred in Sacred Games, took to her social media to share a video where she is seen wearing a number of clothes under a burqa which she eventually strips off in order to protest against the morality police in Iran.

Who Is Elnaaz Norouzi?

Elnaaz Norouzi is a 30-year-old actor and model who has appeared in a number of projects in India. She was born in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Norouzi started her modelling career at the age of 14 and pursued her education in school alongside.

Norouzi, who later went on to pursue an acting course at the New York Film Academy, has successfully modelled for diverse multinational brands including Dior, Lacoste, and Hugo Boss among others. Norouzi has also been a prominent face at the London Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Having started her career with acting in 2017 released Maan Jao Na, Norouzi went on to star in a Punjabi film titled Khido Khundi in 2018. In the same year, she landed a solid project with Netflix, as she starred in the streaming platform's series Sacred Games alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan, which was directed by Anurag Kashyap. Norouzi furthered her career with the 2019 Zee5 original series titled Abhay alongside Kunal Khemu. Having worked in popular music videos like Made In India and several ad campaigns, Norouzi has been a prominent artist in the industry in recent years.

Norouzi has been actively vocal about women's rights and her latest protest video marks her as an important voice at a time when women in Iran require all the backing they a to fight a system that deprives them of their right to choose.
