Primarily working in Kannada alongside the Tamil film industry, better known by the screen name Ramya, Divya Spandana is a former Indian actor and politician.
Divya Spandana took to Twitter to allege in a long thread of tweets that the office of Congress party had come up with a list of responses to her tweets to ‘troll’ her. In 2018, the actor who had been credited with a remarkable turnaround in the Congress Party's social media presence fueled speculations of her quitting her post from the party because her Twitter bio was missing. Later, she rubbished those rumours. Recently, media reports claimed that Spandana allegedly duped the Congress party of Rs 8 Lakhs before quitting in 2019.
As she took over Congress as its social media head in 2017, she made sure Congress’ chief, Rahul Gandhi’s follower count multiplied on Twitter.
Who Is Divya Spandana
Ramya made her debut in the 2003 Kannada film Abhi. Written and directed by Dinesh Babu, the romantic comedy film carries the soundtrack sung by Veteran Kannada actor, Rajkumar. The film was remade in Telugu as Abhimanyu. Spandana (Ramya) also happens to be the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South, an Udaya Award along with a Karnataka State Film Award.

The 2005 Amrithadhare directed and co-produced by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar and written by actor Ramesh Aravind, made her win the Udaya Award and Filmfare Award.
Before joining as a youth wing of the Indian National Congress Party in 2012, Divya also performed in the 2011 romantic drama Sanju Weds Geetha and not only garnered critical reception and success but also the Karnataka State Film Award.
In 2017, the task of reviving INC’s social media wing was entrusted upon her and was offered the position of the head of the Party’s digital team on a national level. Taking over the social media team from Indian politician and four-term INC MP, Deepender Singh Hooda, she reportedly played an instrumental role in turning around Rahul Gandhi’s social media prestige.
Ramya also created the online #AintNoCinderella campaign to support the 29-year-old Chandigarh DJ Varnika Kundu, who was stalked and abducted in 2017. According to the campaign’s message, women have every right to feel safe while stepping out of their homes at midnight.
