Deviya Vishwajit Rane will be contesting from the Poriem constituency of Goa in the upcoming goa assembly elections 2022. As per the Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) election in-charge Devendra Fadnavais, Pratapsingh Rane had agreed to the proposal by BJP to give away the Poriem seat and proposed his daughter-in-law's name for the seat.
However, Pratapsingh Rane has denied any such claims by Fadnavis. On January 27, 2022, Deviya Rane took to her social media profile and announced her nomination from Poriem.
Who is Deviya Vishwajit Rane?
Deviya Vishwajit Rane is the wife of the current Cabinet Minister of Goa Vishwajit Rane and daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister of Goa Pratapsingh Rane.
She is the director to companies like Devaa Fortune Villas Private Limited, Karapur Agro Private Limited, Fit Agro Private Limited, Bienvenue Beach Villa Hospitality Private Limited and Additional Director to Karapur Estates Private Limited.
In one of the ">interviews to Prudent Media, Deviya Rane recalled the day of her marriage and how her father-in-law made her feel so comfortable. "He was going out of his way to make me feel comfortable and treat me like daughter and made me feel like I am the daughter of the house. Till date, he makes sure that I get the same respect as the daughter and both (Mummy and Baba) has given me the same respect. They never just treat me like Vishwajit's wife but as the daughter of the house".

Even after her marriage, she was motivated by her family to take up the practice and not stop it. Due to her commitments towards raising children, she could not take up medical practice as full-time activity.
Rane is an active social worker in Sattari Taluka of Goa for the last 15 years.
Vishwajit Rane and Deviya Rane's name has been declared by the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party on January 27,2022 for the scheduled election in Goa. Currently, Deviya Rane's husband Vishwajit Rane is serving the Government of Goa as the Cabinet Minister. Her father-in-law Pratapsingh Rane is veteran politician and former Chief Minister of Goa belonging to the Indian National Congress(INC).
The elections in Goa will start from February 14, 2022 to elect 40 candidates for the Goa Legislative Assembly. The results of the poll are to be declared on March 10, 2022
