Sidhu Moosewala's Mom Pens Heartbreaking Note On Death Anniversary
As it marked the second death anniversary of Punjabi music icon Sidhu Moosewala, his mother, Charan Kaur, took to Instagram to express her grief and the loss of her only son at the time of his death as she paid tribute to her son.
Kaur, in an Instagram post, wrote an emotional letter as a mother addressing her late son in Punjabi, which translated: "Dear good son, today 730 days, 17532 hours, 1051902 minutes, and 63115200 seconds have passed." She continued: "We will never forget a son like you in our whole life."
She remembers the dark day of Moosewala's murder as she wrote: "When you crossed the threshold of this house, the fruits of my prayers fell, as the day became dark, after which the hope of the sunrise was not even the hope itself," recalling the feeling of loss of her son.
However, she talks about the recent addition to the Moosewala family a year later, the loss of their only son, as 58-year-old Kaur and 60-year-old Balkaur Singh welcomed another son on March 13, as Kaur became a mother at 58 through IVF treatments.
Kaur in the letter tells her late son about the renewed happiness of the Moosewala family after the arrival of his "little brother," as she wrote: "Guru Maharaj was aware of your thoughts and dreams, so he blessed us again with a son in whom will instill your (Sidhu Moosewala's) presence forever."
Kaur wrote how Moosewala will forever be living in their hearts and will have a place in their thoughts and expressed how this day is written in black letters in history. She also talks about forever feeling the presence of Moosewala, highlighting the vulnerability and grief of a mother who lost her child, as she wrote: "I cannot see you physically, but I can feel you with the eyes of my mind, which I have been doing for these two years. As she said, today (the second death Anniversary) is still a very difficult day for them.
Balkaur Singh also told news agency ANI that the family is going to set up a small meet-up to observe the death of Moosewala and some traditional rituals will be held in their village, where Moosewala took his last breath. Singh said, taking in consideration the ongoing elections and heated temperament, they requested everyone from outside not attend the ceremony and only family and villagers from the village were invited to partake.

Hailing from a Jatt Sikh family and adhering to the Sikhism faith, Charan has been actively involved in public service and community welfare. Born on May 15, 1965, she is 58 years old and is married to Balkaur Singh.
In 2018, Charan Kaur Sidhu secured victory as the sarpanch of Mossa village in Mansa district, Punjab. Supported by the Congress party, she won the elections with 702 votes, defeating her opponent, who was backed by the Akali Dal. Her son, Sidhu Moosewala, a prominent figure in Punjabi music, played a significant role in her electoral success by spearheading a door-to-door campaign on her behalf. Despite facing opposition, Charan emerged triumphant, dedicated to fulfilling her promises to her constituents and addressing pressing issues affecting the community.
After the untimely demise of Sidhu Moosewala, who fell victim to assailants on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district at the young age of 28, his parents have been leading a solitary life, mourning the loss of their son.
