Carrie Johnson and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the arrival of their second child- "health baby girl" at London Hospital today. The couple announced their pregnancy earlier in July this year through her social media post.
The couple already have a one year son named Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson who was born in April, 2020 last year. The boy was named as tribute to the grandparents and also to the two doctors who looked after Mr. Johnson while he was hospitalised last year due to few COVID-19 related health complexity.
Carrie announced her pregnancy earlier this year in July 2021 through her Instagram profile and mentioned that the couple were expecting a "rainbow" baby this year. But this news, was followed by a detail of miscarriage that she suffered at the beginning of this year which left her heartbroken.
Rainbow baby is the term used for a child who is born just after the mother loses her previous child due to some complexities. It is a symbol of hope, happiness and excitement, hence called rainbow.

Who is Carrie Johnson?
Carrie Johnson is political activist and wife of Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Boris officiated the place in 10 Downing Street after her predecessor Theresa May resigned from her office as she could not achieve a way for Brexit to happen successfully for UK.
Carrie belongs to an influential journalist family of London with her father Matthew Symonds being the co-founder of British newspaper The Independent, her grandfather and grandmother being editor to The Daily Herald and journalist at BBC respectively.
Carrie got married to Boris Johnson this year on May 29,2021 at Westminster Cathedral in London in a secret ceremony attended by just 30 guests due to COVID-19 restrictions. Boris became the first Prime Minister in around 200 years to get married while being in office.

She campaigned for Boris Johnson when he stood for mayoral election in London after she joined the Conservative Party as press officer in 2009. She later joined Oceana in their Public Relations department- a non profit organisation that focuses on preserving and protecting world's oceans through collective policy making.
Earlier on her miscarriage, Carrie brought up the issue of" not so glittery life" through her post where she wrote- "Fertility issues can be really hard for many people particularly on platforms like Instagram it can look like everything is only ever going well. I found it a real comfort to hear from people who had also experienced loss so I hope that in some very small way sharing this might help others too" .
The 33-year-old Conservative party member, Carrie along with her husband Boris suffered a backlash on social media and other news agency after reports of them hosting a party last year in time of COVID-19 came forward.
The Prime Minister had to launch an investigation to check if the rules were broken in any lockdown party or not comprising the staff members. He "">apologised unreservedly" for video of a staff joking about a party at 10, Downing Street and denied of his presence at any party.
