Who is Bindu RD? She is a 26-year-old woman living in Davanagere district of Karnataka who has sent an email to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on September 9 telling him that she won't get married until roads are built in her village. Her mail prompted the Administrative officials of the district to visit her place. They have also assured her that construction work will be started soon.

- Bindu RD is a resident of H Rampura village in Davanagere district of Karnataka who wrote that mail to Karnataka's Chief Minister.
- She believes that if she gets married and leaves her district, there will be no one to fight for the rights of the people living there.
- She had to walk 14-km to reach the nearest school in absence of a proper road. She said many women from the village had to drop out of school early because of this reason.
- In her email, Bindu also mentioned that she had to live in a hostel while pursuing her education because no roads and buses were available for her to travel. Bindu’s village is 37 km away from Davangere city.
- She is a post-graduate in Economics from Davangere University and is a teacher by profession.
- In an interview by Indian Express, Bindu said that her village has no roads or bus services and due to this, she was forced to stay at a hostel. She also said that the nearest school and medical facility are 7-km away from the village in Mayakonda.
- She highlighted the plight of farmers also saying that they are unable to take their agricultural products to the city on time as no carrier vehicle is willing to come to the village as the road is in a dilapidated condition.
