Modi's promotion comes at a time when Tira, which was launched by Isha Ambani in 2023, is gaining substantial ground in the beauty industry, facing competition from established players like Nykaa, Tata Cliq, and Myntra. In just one year, Tira has positioned itself as a strong contender in India’s beauty sector, making this leadership change a strategic move to expand the platform further. Modi has worked closely with Isha Ambani throughout Tira's journey and has played a crucial role in shaping its long-term goals.

Who Is Bhakti Modi?

Bhakti Modi comes from a background deeply connected to Reliance. She is the daughter of Manoj Modi, one of the most trusted leaders at Reliance Industries and a key aide to Mukesh Ambani, the company’s chairman. Her family’s strong ties to Reliance have certainly influenced her career path, but Modi has also built a strong profile of her own in the industry.

Modi’s educational background is impressive. She completed her early education at Queen Mary School in Mumbai until 2006, after which she moved to Dhirubhai Ambani International School to pursue her International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. Following this, she attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied psychology and communication, graduating in 2012 from the prestigious Ivy League institution.

Her professional career began within Reliance itself, where she worked at Ajio, the company’s fashion subsidiary. Between 2017 and 2018, Modi worked as a category inventory planner and merchandiser at Ajio’s Bengaluru office. This early experience in the fashion and retail sectors helped her develop the skills needed to handle large-scale retail operations.

In 2018, Modi decided to deepen her knowledge of fashion and pursued a two-year degree in fashion and apparel design at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. This education provided her with a refined understanding of the fashion industry, which she now applies to Tira’s beauty and personal care business. According to her LinkedIn profile, Modi has been involved with Tira since January 2022, well before its official launch.
