Who Is Baljeet Kaur? Haryana Woman Arrested For Aiding Amritpal Singh

A woman from Haryana, Baljeet Kaur was arrested for harbouring Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, who is currently on the run from the Punjab police. Kaur also allegedly gave shelter to Singh's associate Papalpreet Singh.

Baljeet Kaur, a resident of Sidharth Colony of Shahbad, was allegedly in contact with Papalpreet Singh. The Haryana police took her into custody and she was handed over to the Punjab police.

Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said that the Punjab police were alerted that Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh had stayed at a house in Shahbad on March 19 to March 20.

Bhoria added that initial inputs suggested that Kaur was in touch with Papalpreet for the last two years.

Punjab police launched a crackdown against Amritpal and his organisation Waris Punjab De.

Who Is Baljeet Kaur?

• 32-year-old Baljeet Kaur was arrested after she harboured Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh in her home in Haryana.
• The Khalistani leader stayed in her home on Sunday, March 19, and left the next day. Amritpal and Papalpreet had travelled to Shahbad on a scooty.
• Kaur's brother informed the police regarding Amritpal taking shelter in her home.
• She was detained by the Haryana police and was handed over to the Punjab police.
• After being arrested, Kaur revealed that Amritpal had changed his attire and left via autorickshaw.
• Kaur also revealed that she was in contact with Papalpreet for the last two years and he had stayed at her home on several occasions.
• Kaur has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and her brother works at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
• Reportedly, Baljeet Kaur used to follow Amritpal Singh on the social media platform Instagram and was in contact with him. She reportedly informed the police that Singh made several calls while residing with her and planned to escape to Uttarakhand.
