The Thailand princess Bajrakitiyabha recently suffered a heart attack while she was out walking her dog. The palace of Thailand has informed the public that the princess is flown to a hospital in Bangkok.
The King of Thailand has reportedly reached out to meet his daughter on a helicopter. The condition of health of the princess is not very well according to the official posting of the palace on social media that says, she is "ill and lost consciousness" which happened due to a heart condition. Bajrakitiyabha is currently admitted to the Pak Chong Nana hospital near Bangkok as per the reports.
The Bangkok-based news site Khaosod English tweeted that people all over the country have been praying for the princess' speedy recovery. They wrote, "PM Gen Prayut led Cabinet members & the public in signing well-wishing messages Fri morning at Chulalongkorn Hospital for a speedy recovery of HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha who became unconscious due to a heart condition Weds," along with photos from the morning. It also said, "People can sign a well wishing message at the hospital from 8am to 4pm daily."
Who Is Bajrakitiyabha?
Bajrakitiyabha is the eldest daughter of King Vajiralongkorn and his first wife Princess Soamsawali. She was born in 1978 in Thailand. Bajrakitiyabha is next in line to the throne of Thailand under the House of Mahidol in the Chakri Dynasty. The Thailand princess started her schooling in her home country itself but for her secondary education, she moved to England and there she finished her education. After school, the princess pursued a law degree. She also did a bachelor's degree in International relations. For higher education in law and for the LL.M degree, she went to the prestigious Cornell University. She also had an LL.D degree.
Bajrakitiyabha was appointed as the Attorney in the Office of the Attorney General in Bangkok and also for the Udon Thani Province later. Reports say that she served as the Thai permanent mission for the United Nations in 2012. In 2014 Bajrakitiyabha was appointed as the Thai ambassador to Austria. Recently in 2021, she was appointed as the Chief of Staff and promoted to the rank of general for the Royal Security Command.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha is interested in social welfare and is involved in a project which helps imprisoned women receive counselling and child care. She also runs a project that encourages the humane treatment of prisoners, especially women.
The princess was located in Khao Yai when she collapsed while out running her dogs. Reports say that the CPR failed to resuscitate her at that point.
