Anmol Gagan Maan is the winning candidate from the Kharar constituency in Punjab. The popular singer turned politician Maan contested the Punjab Assembly Elections for the year 2022 from the Aam Aadmi Party's seat. On March 10, the results of the election were announced and AAP was victorious including Maan.
She won by a huge margin of over 36,000 votes. This election is her political debut and she bagged over 40 percent of the vote share. AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal also won the elections with 92 seats in the 117-member Assembly. This means that Bhagwant Mann will be the new Chief Minister of Punjab. The counting of votes began at 8 AM today. The former Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh, who had won the 2017 assembly, lost his constituency Patiala Urban to his AAP rival.
After winning, Maan tweeted, "A heartfelt thank you to all the residents of halka Kharar. Our tireless work has finally paid off. The people of Punjab deserve huge appreciation for this historic victory. Har Maidaan Fateh." According to her Twitter account bio, she is the President of the AAP Youth Wing in Punjab.

Who Is Anmol Gagan Maan?
She is also known as Gagandeep Kaur Maan. The 32-year-old is a popular singer, lyricist and music composer in Punjab. Born in the Mansa district of Punjab, her hometown is Mohali.
At an early age, she found her interest in music and in 2014, she went to England. There she won the World Folk Dance Competition in the same year.
In 2014, she started her singing career with the song Royal Jatti and then released an album titled Punjabo in 2015.
She has done her graduation in Psychology and Music from the MCM DAV College in Chandigarh. In 2013, before going to England, she was crowned the Miss Mohali Punjaban at the Miss World Punjaban.
During her election campaign in 2022, the Indian Express quoted her promising the people of her constituency that she will make it "the number one constituency in Punjab in terms of development."
