Who Is Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth?: South Indian actor Dhanush and wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth will be separating after 18 years of marriage. Dhanush took to Twitter on January 17 to announce the same. In his Twitter post, Dhanush wrote, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting.” He added that the couple decided that they are at a place where their paths are separate. Read the note here

Actor Dhanush, who was last seen in Bollywood film Atrangi Re along with Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar,  requested everyone to give them privacy and to respect their decision.

• Aishwarya Rajinikanth was born on 1 January 1982.
• She is a film director and playback singer.
• Film 3, released in 2012 that starred her ex-husband Dhanush, was her directorial debut.
• She has a younger sister Soundarya who works in the Kollywood film industry as well. She has two sons, Yatra and Linga. The elder son was born in 2006 and the younger one was born in 2010.
• Aishwarya Rajinikanth released her own memoir Standing on An Apple Box: The Story of A Girl Among the Stars in December 2016. In the book, she has given the audience an insight into her life as a celebrity kid, her career choices and her marriage.
• She was a playback singer with the film Whistle alongside Silambarasan. Next, she lent her voice for the song "Un Mela Aasadhan" in the film Aayirathil Oruvan. She was an an assistant director for the same film.
