Woman Dies After Liquid Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

Her untimely death has led to a police investigation, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of manslaughter. They have since been released on bail. The incident, which occurred after Alice reportedly became unwell following the procedure, raises serious concerns about the dangers of unregulated cosmetic treatments.

The liquid BBL, which involves injecting hyaluronic acid and dermal fillers into the buttocks, was performed by an unqualified individual without medical training. While marketed as a less invasive and cheaper alternative to traditional BBLs, liquid BBL procedures still carry significant risks, particularly when conducted by unqualified practitioners. The procedure typically costs around £2,500 and lasts about 60 minutes, but results are temporary, lasting only one to two years.
