Wagh Bakri tea group's director and CEO Parag Desai passed away owing to a brain haemorrhage. He was 49.
Desai was admitted to a hospital after sustaining severe injuries caused to him on October 15 after he fell on his head following an attack by a few street dogs outside his residence, according to Ahmedabad Mirror. On October 23, while undergoing treatment Desai succumbed to brain haemorrhage.

Wagh Bakri tea group was founded in 1892 by Narandas Desai, which was later taken over by his son Rasesh Desai, and further carried forward by Parag, who had turned the company into a turnover of ₹2000 crores leading the brand to become India's third largest packaged tea brand.
As per the reports, on October 15, Desai was attacked by a group of street dogs outside his residence and as he tried to ward off the dogs and escape the attack, he fell on his head and sustained some severe injuries.
The security guard of his residence immediately informed his family and he was rushed to the Shelby Hospital in Ahmedabad. After a day of keeping Desai under observation, he was shifted to Zydus Hospital for surgeries and further treatment.
However, Desai succumbed to his injuries as he suffered a brain haemorrhage. The company announced the news of his demise on their Instagram story as they wrote "With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to announce the sad demise of our beloved Shri Parag Desai."
Desai is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
Being the respected voice in the industry, Desai's demise led many of his friends and known personalities from the business industry to offer condolences. Rajya Sabha MP and Gujarat Congress Chief, Shaktisinh Gohil, wrote on his X account about the incident and offered his condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. Tech Mahindra group also offered their condolences calling it a "terribly untimely loss."
