The little girl is dressed in a pink salwar kameez and is seen lip syncing Taapsee Pannu’s lines from the film Manmarziyaan. Her name is Kiara Khanna and her mom has posted it on Instagram. Who Is Amrita Pritam?
Born on 31 August 1919, Amrita Pritam was an Indian novelist, essayist and poet who wrote in Punjabi and Hindi. She is considered to be one of India's most iconic female poets. Her writings on partition, love, romance and pain moved people. She was highly empathetic towards the oppression and subjugation women face in a patriarchal society and often wrote about them in her novels.
She was an unapologetic writer and the most important voice for women in Punjabi Literature. In 1956, she became the first woman to win the Sahitya Akademi Award for her poem Ajj aakhaan Waris Shah nu (Today I invoke Waris Shah – “Ode to Waris Shah”)
Some of her famous works include Pinjar, Raseedi Ticket, Shadows of Words, In The Times Of Love And Longing.
