Vinod Dua tributes: 67-year-old veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away on 4 December, 2021. He had contracted Covid-19 earlier this year and was hospitalised when his condition deteriorated. His professional stint with Doordarshan and NDTV is the highlight of his career.
His daughter Mallika Dua took to social media and wrote, "Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall."
Her mother Chinna Dua passed away last year after a prolonged battle with COVID.
Tributes pour in
A lot of prominent people from media and Bollywood have taken to social media to pay a tribute to the veteran journalist.
Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar took to Twitter and wrote, "Heartfelt condolences to Mallika and the family on the tragic passing of #VinodDua sir.. May you have strength, forbearance and patience at this time Mallika. All my love and my deepest condolences. Yours in grief.. "
Journalist Mitali Mukherjee wrote, "I don’t think we will ever fully comprehend how heartbreaking and difficult this year has been for so many families across India. This must be hell many times over for the sisters"
RJ Sayema wrote that she has grown up watching and understanding journalism from #VinodDua . "Brave, courageous, fierce and fair in the most challenging times. He was a force to reckon with. Goodbye Sir. You will be terribly missed", reads her tweet.
West Bengal State President wrote, " Condolences on the passing away of one of the most popular journalists of India @VinodDua7. Remember him as psephologist who used to run shows during elections. Rest in peace Sir"
