On May 28, the rape survivor further claimed in front of the media that she was not only abducted but also raped. This information was reportedly missing from the previously filed FIR.
In view of the accusation, the police assured that necessary sections of rape would be added to the complaint report, Chhatarpur police chief Sachin Sharma told Hindustan Times.
“The woman has injury marks on her body and in her complaint, she informed police about physical torture only," Sharma said, "She didn’t inform us about any sexual assault but if she is saying, we will add the section of rape in the FIR."
Rajnagar police station in-charge Pankaj Sharma said that the rape survivor's husband, a 32-year-old labourer, refused to cut some trees from the accused's farm as he wasn't feeling well enough to work. The accused allegedly tortured the labourer for the same by beating him up on the spot. However, the victim managed to flee away from the spot.
"Later, the accused reached the labourer’s house and beat his pregnant wife, two kids and mother. The accused abducted them and tortured them for four days," Sharma said.
The family was taken to a local hospital for treatment by the police. They were discharged later.
