Actor and producer in the Malayalam film industry, Vijay Babu is reportedly absconding in Dubai. He has been charged with the sexual assault of an actor under the guise of offering roles in films. On Sunday, the Additional CJM court issued an arrest warrant against the accused actor. But he is missing.
The Kochi police, who are investigating the matter, will be handing over the copy of the arrest warrant to the union home ministry. To news media, police have said that the warrant was issued as part of the red corner notice against Vijay Babu. Reportedly, a copy of the warrant will be handed over to the Dubai police for tracing the actor's location and action will allegedly be taken to hand him over to the Kerala police.
As per the news report, the actor had tried contacting the survivor over call and influencing her to settle and the investigating team has taken statements from the witnesses on the issue. Not only did he allegedly call the survivor, but as per the investigation, he also tried contacting a series of influential people to help him and make the survivor drop her case. The Kerala High Court will be taking up the actor's plea for anticipatory bail on May 18.

Vijay Babu Arrest Warrant: More About The Case
The case against the actor was registered by a female actor, who is a native of Kozhikode district in Kerala. The survivor accused Vijay Babu of multiple incidents of sexual assault. A case was registered against him by the Ernakulam South Police on the basis of the complaint received by them on April 22.
The accused had allegedly assaulted the survivor at a flat in Kochi. The accused actor also conducted a Facebook live wherein he denied the allegations levelled against him and also revealed the name of the survivor while threatening to register a defamation case against her.
Apart from being an actor in the Malayalam film industry, he is also the founder of the production company named Friday Film House. In the past, he has won the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Children's Film. He won this award for Philips and The Monkey Pen.
