Vietnamese Woman Gets Worms In Her Skin
A 58-year-old woman from Hanoi's An Binh region wanted to eat the famous raw blood pudding. However, she was skeptical whether eating it at a restaurant or food place would be hygienic or not. She was worried that they may not prepare it with precautions and decided to make it at home. She got all the ingredients she needed and made the pudding at home. She loved it and ate it once a month but after some time, she started feeling dizzy and got headaches.
She lost balance and became unconscious one day after which she was rushed to the hospital. The doctors initially considered it to be a stroke but they ended up finding that there were worms crawling in the woman's skin.
The parasitic worms can be seen crawling inside the skin on her hands and feet and a few of them were visible from the outside as well. The doctors found that they have also reached her brain and if she would have brought in any late, she might have been paralysed or lost her life. The worms developed in her skin because of the raw blood pudding which, the doctors claimed, was not prepared carefully. The Tiet Canh is prepared with utmost care and hygiene and not necessarily suits everyone who eats it.
There have been cases where people have suffered from health issues after eating it but confused the symptoms with that of strokes, seizures and other mental health issues. These parasites found in the woman's body can cause severe damage to a person's brain if not treated timely. The incident is a lesson that we should be careful of what we consume and even home-prepared meals can be unsafe.
