A Pakistani woman shared a Facebook post recently, narrating an incident where an auto driver allegedly masturbated in front of her. The post soon went viral and she received a lot of support. However, a few prople criticised her and blamed her what happened.
According to a report by Indian Express, the woman said, "The messages (she got on Facebook) were a mixed collection of support and hate. People (mostly women) were supporting and encouraging whereas mostly men were victim blaming, saying things like my explicitness is the reason why I was harassed. Some of them are even defending auto driver by saying he’s just scratching his balls lol as if I was blind and stupid to understand."
What happened?
While travelling in an auto, a Pakistani woman, Shahtaj Qadir was harassed by the auto driver as he started masturbating at her. She also said that he constantly stared at her breasts. Qadir quickly made a video of him and asked him to stop the auto near a police station. The woman then gave him a piece of her mind and lashed out at him for harassing her. This incident took place a few weeks ago.

While talking to Indian Express, the Karachi resident revealed that she wasn't able to register a complaint against the auto driver as she was unable to note down the vehicle's registration number. The 24-year-old social media executive added, “He didn’t follow me as he pushed me and ran away.”
Qadir had posted the video on Facebook with a long caption which narrated the story. It also gave women tips on how to deal when in these situations. She stressed that they should remain calm and intelligently handle the matter without panicking.
