India is stunned and shocked at a most gruesome rape in Hyderabad. The nation mourns the death of a 26-year-old veterinarian doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered after her two-wheeler broke down on a highway. The young girl's body was found badly burnt. Her family identified her body with the help of a locket she was wearing. Two truck drivers have been arrested in connection with the case.
The scooty was deliberately punctured
The police is speculating that the tyre of the victim's scooty may have been deliberately punctured. The doctor was allegedly murdered by two people on Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway, Tondupally toll plaza, after her two-wheeler broke down while returning home, leaving her stranded. Her charred body was found at Chatanpally bridge near Shadnagar town in the Ranga Reddy district.

Gita S. Kapoor tweeted that capital punishment was the need of the hour. "A young, full of life doctor was victimised in Hyderabad. Under the pretext of helping her, this is what the monsters did, a heinous, cruel crime. Quick convictions and capital punishment is the need of the hour," read her tweet.

What Had Actually Happened?
Police said that the deceased woman's younger sister filed a complaint which states that her sister got help from a passerby who offered to repair her two-wheeler. She said her sister was scared when they last spoke at around 9:15 pm. She saw a lot of unknown men and trucks parked in the area. Her sister then called her again at 9.44 pm but the phone was switched off following which they approached the police.

"I even asked her to come away leaving the vehicle. When I called after some time, her phone was switched off," the sister said.
"We suspect she was doused with kerosene and burnt,'' Shamshabad DCP Prakash Reddy told NDTV.
Two residents of Anantpur area have been taken into custody for interrogation in connection with the case. The two in custody include a driver and a cleaner. The vet's vehicle has been found in Kotturu area, nearly 15-20 kms from Shamshabad.
"Whoever has done this needs to be hanged to death,'' said the victim's father, a government employee.
