Veteran Actress Kishori Ballal, Kaveri Amma of Swades Fame Passes Away

Veteran actress Kishori Ballal passed away, yesterday. She was 82. The actress was suffering from age-related illness and breathed her last in a private hospital in Bengaluru.

Kishori Ballal has worked with many actors and filmmakers. To date, she has appeared in more than 65 films. She well known for playing Shahrukh Khan's mother, Kaveri Amma, in the movie Swades. She made her debut in the  Kannada movie Ivalentha Hendthi in the year 1960. The actress is a stalwart of Kannada cinema. Her career spans many decades.

Ashutosh Gowariker shared the news on Twitter and shared some behind the scene stills from the film Swades with her. He also tweeted "HEARTBROKENly! Terribly sad about the passing away of KishoriBallal Ji!! Kishori Ji…" He further added, "you will be remembered for your generously kind, warm and affable persona!" He also tweeted "And your unforgettable performance as #Kaveriamma in #Swades!! You will surely be missed!!”

"This is so sad... RIP #KishoriBallal. Just today morning I was listening to Swades songs and remembered her soft maternal face."

Puneeth Rajkumar also tweeted expressing his sadness. He tweeted, "Veteran artist Kishori Ballal amma is no more, RIP." Her fans reacted too on hearing the news. one fan, Crazy4Fawad wrote "This is so sad... RIP #KishoriBallal. Just today morning I was listening to Swades songs and remembered her soft maternal face." Another fan, Kunal Mandekar tweeted " She was the soul of Shahrukh khan's one of the most beautiful film #swades." Aman Kotak another fan tweeted " Such a fine actress... sad news...
