On October 26, it was reported that the father of the girl was arrested by the police for her murder. According to the police, he submitted a false complaint against the three men from the neighbourhood. It was further revealed that the victim’s uncle confessed during interrogation that it was the father who allegedly carried out the crime as he objected to the girl’s acquaintances, as reported by Indian Express.
As per reports, the police interrogated residents and neighbours to trace witnesses but they were alerted only after the police arrived. After taking two of the accused men in custody the police checked the CCTV cameras and analysed CDR records, but no evidence of their presence was found. It was discovered that the father of the girl accused the three men of murder because he had a professional rivalry with them. The incident took place when the father of the girl was angry with her for talking to certain people. When he confronted her, the conversation enraged him so much that he allegedly shot her dead with an unlicensed gun.
