On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh police stated that a Tantrik allegedly raped a woman in a village, in the Barsana area.
The Tantrik named Narendra paid a visit to the village, along with his associate, Sandeep Tomar. On Thursday, he performed 'jhaadphoonk' (witchcraft) on the villagers. He then asked the rape survivor, to meet him later at night.
The police said that instead of 'treating' her, he allegedly raped her.
The woman then filed a complaint against Tantrik with the police, who then arrested his associate. SHO Barsana Inspector Azad Pal Singh said that the Tantrik has now fled from the village.
A search operation, to nab the Tantrik is underway, and the woman has gone through a medical examination.
Tantrik rapes woman in a village in Sriganganagar
In January this year, a Tantrik was caught by the police for raping his female client, at a village in Sriganganagar.
The police said that they were informed about the appearance of a Tantrik who performed mantras and fled from the house of a woman, after raping her.
Soon, all the police check-posts received a Whatsapp message, and all the exit routes were blocked. The Tantrik named Kabir Ram Nayak, from Mohangarh in Jaisalmer district was caught by the police, as they stopped buses ferrying passengers to Khajuwala.
According to a preliminary investigation report, Kabir had come to Chak 7-KND village a few days prior and was residing with a family there. He allegedly raped the woman in the house and fled from there. The woman then told her husband about it, who then informed the police.
National-level weightlifter accused a police official of rape
A national-level weightlifter, from Kasabad village, near Ludhiana, accused a police officer of raping her several times. “Appropriate action will be taken after verifying the allegations,” said Pragya Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADPC), Ludhiana. However, the allegations have not yet been verified.
