UP: Family Of Murdered 8-Year-Old Girl Sits On Dharna Against Police, Alleges Harassment By Cops

The family of an eight-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered in Mathura village in Uttar Pradesh, sat on a dharna against Mathura police alleging the police arrested the wrong person in connection with the case. 

The eight-year-old girl went missing on November 26 when she had gone to the forest near her house to collect dry woods. The next morning, the body of the minor girl was found in the forest. Later on, the post-mortem examination revealed that she was raped and strangled to death.

As per the report of Times Now, the girl's father accused police of botching up the probe. The father also accused the police of not probing the matter in detail. According to the girl’s family, some other persons were involved in the crime but police arrested a mentally challenged man. The family of the girl also said that police are harassing them by questioning them again and again.

An 8-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old man in Meghpura village in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. After raping the minor, the accused threw the body of the minor in a well. The accused was later arrested.

The girl went missing on Saturday afternoon, following which her father filed a missing complaint.  As per the report, Ravindra Pratap Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Choti Sadri police station said that the post-mortem examination revealed that the girl’s neck was broken and grave injuries were inflicted on her as there were bloodstains on different parts of the body. In Rajasthan’s Pali, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man in November. He offered the girl a packet of chips and took her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her. The girl was found crying near her home late at night. The accused reportedly fled from the spot. The accused was identified as Omaram Nayak and arrested under relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act based on a complaint lodged by the family members of the minor girl.
