The family of an eight-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered in Mathura village in Uttar Pradesh, sat on a dharna against Mathura police alleging the police arrested the wrong person in connection with the case.
The eight-year-old girl went missing on November 26 when she had gone to the forest near her house to collect dry woods. The next morning, the body of the minor girl was found in the forest. Later on, the post-mortem examination revealed that she was raped and strangled to death.

An 8-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old man in Meghpura village in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. After raping the minor, the accused threw the body of the minor in a well. The accused was later arrested.
The girl went missing on Saturday afternoon, following which her father filed a missing complaint. In Rajasthan’s Pali, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man in November. He offered the girl a packet of chips and took her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her. The girl was found crying near her home late at night. The accused reportedly fled from the spot. The accused was identified as Omaram Nayak and arrested under relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act based on a complaint lodged by the family members of the minor girl.
