Death At Office; What Happened?

Prudhomme had last clocked into work at 7 a.m. on August 16, which was a Friday. "The preliminary investigation did not show any obvious signs of foul play. We have no further information at this time as this is an ongoing investigation," the Tempe Police Criminal Investigation Bureau said.

Wells Fargo said that Prudhomme's death went unnoticed as she sat in a "very underpopulated area" of the office. According to a report in NBC affiliate KPNX, an unnamed employee said that several people had said they smelled a "foul odour," but brushed it off as "faulty plumbing."

A report in the local news outlet Arizona's Family stated that police responded to the location after receiving reports about a "subject down," when security found Prudhomme's body. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will now determine a cause of death.

Wells Fargo said in a statement, "Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well-supported during this difficult time. We are committed to the safety and wellness of our workforce and are reviewing our internal procedures after this event."

While the office reportedly has 24x7 security, most employees reportedly work remotely. An unnamed employee expressed speaking to 12News, "It is negligence in some part," demanding better security protocols at the office. Another employee agreed, calling the situation "very uncomfortable."

"The body was there for four days before anybody found out or before anybody walked up to her just to say 'Hi', and make sure she was okay. She was just lying there," the employee said. Wells Fargo has reportedly offered counselling for the other employees impacted by the incident.
