A 39-year-old nurse named Niviane Petit Phelps was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill US Vice President Kamala Harris. She was arrested after an investigation was conducted by the US Secret Service.
According to a complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the nurse had willfully threatened to kill Kamala Harris from February 13 to February 18 this year. Phelps who has been working for the Jackson Health System since 2001 is currently facing criminal charges for her alleged threatening.
Nurse claims US Vice President Kamala Harris Isn't Really 'Black'
The complaint had a lot more to reveal about the nurse's alleged actions. It said that Phelps sent videos of herself angrily speaking ill of US Vice President Kamala Harris to her husband who is imprisoned via JPay. JPay is an application by which families can actually connect with prisoners.
"The videos generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris, among others," read the complaint. "However, in these videos, Phelps also made statements about killing Vice President Harris."
The complaint also stated that in one of the videos, Phelps could be heard saying, "Kamala Harris you are going to die. Your days are numbered already."
In another video taken on February 18, Phelps said that she would be going to the gun range and will kill Harris 50 days from that day. It is said that she had also applied for a concealed weapons permit in the month of February.
Besides that, the nurse had also expressed how Kamala Harris wasn't really 'black,' and that she put her hand on her purse, instead of the Bible during her inauguration.
Then on March 3, the Secret Service and detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department visited the nurse's house to have an interview with her. However, she refused to talk to them. The detectives again visited her on March 6, and according to the criminal complaint, Phelps had said that she has gotten over Kamala Harris being the Vice President of the United States.
