The equal pay gap and the fight to bridge the gap is a big example of gender disparities that are often overlooked. A new report revealed that American women have lost 61 trillion dollars due to the gender wage gap since 1967.
Even after living in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and calling ourselves a modern society of the 21st century many still struggle to understand the simple concept of equal pay gap. While many could argue that women get their wear through soft corners and sympathies, subtly hinting towards character assassination, others claim that women are at par with men and there are no more indifferences between men and women. And yet women are fighting for an equal pay gap.
On the one hand, there are big sports associations like BCCI, the US soccer team, etc are paying women sportspersons and teams equally as their men's teams, actors like Deepika Padukone are taking it globally while speaking about the equal pay gap to TIME Magazine Gala 100.

US Gender Wage Gap
According to a new report by the Center for American Progress, American women are said to have lost 61 trillion dollars due to the gender wage gap since 1967. This gap widens when you bring in accounts the part-timers.
The study says that it will lead to more economic crises and families of women cannot sustain if the gender pay gap stays the course. Though the pay gap has been improving it persists.
The study says it will take 2056 for full-time working and year-round working women to come to parity with men and even longer for women of colour.
Though in 1963, The Equal Pay Act was promoted in US law prohibiting pay discrimination based on sex. And the 1964 Civil Rights Act of the US law ensured that sex and race-based discrimination are illegal.
Yet the fight for an equal pay gap between genders goes on in many countries and fields and not just in America.
